Orgullo boricua! Boricua Pride! Have you ever heard or said those words? Those words describe the pride that we, Puerto Ricans, feel about being born in one of the most beautiful places in the world! Or about been able to say "I'm Puerto Rican". Almost every Boricua has a Puerto Rican flag in their car, house, office or... in all of the above! Being Puerto Rican fills our hearts and souls with so much pride that it is hard not to scream it, to let everyone know! Being Puerto Rican is a privilege!

Having Sonia Sotomayor as a Supreme Court Justice should make us all proud. Whether you agree with her principles or not, the fact that a Puerto Rican Woman will hold such a high and important position, should be enough to fill our hearts with joy and pride!
Every morning I wake up my thoughts drift back to mi isla,the smell of coffee the sounds of the rising birds ,I for once carry the pride of my island and in the same way I tell my daughters their history doesnA’t matter they were born in "the states"their pride rest in our portorican heritage.....

We are different and yet, we share so many characteristics with other cultures, whether they are hispanic or not! We should be proud of our culture. The orgullo boricua should flow in our veins. And we should show that pride by example...

How is it that I am proud to be Puerto Rican. For starters been a descendant of the spaniards my roots are deeply embeded on my beautiful island, Cristobal de Sotomayor and his story with Guanina.
Well my grandfather is a direct descendant of the conquistadores pure spaniard and I love to follow that history even now that I am far away from my beloved island there is not a moment that passes that brings me back to the beautiful scenery of my town Juana Diaz,or the beauty of the beaches and the countryside,the smelll of coffee at 3 o'clock,and the music ,that deep romanticism that we all carry with us.... Mi Puerto Rico like the song says Yo Nunca Dejare de Amarte......
